A Passion for Vehicle Graphics

Shawn Wesson loves everything about vehicle graphics. “There is nothing more fun than creating a really great wrap,” he said.
Wesson is the manager at Gulf Coast Graphics in Corpus Christi, Texas. He often works on as many as eight or ten wrap designs at a time, creating custom graphics for everything from standard cars and trucks to 54-foot semi trailers and 39-foot boats.
The parking lot at Gulf Coast is often packed, which is just the way Wesson likes it. To meet the needs of his clients, Gulf Coast Graphics relies on Roland DG wide-format printers: Two 54-inch VersaCAMM wide format color printer/cutters, and two SOLJET large format color printers, one of which is housed at their Las Vegas facility, Wrap Masters.
“When I started here we had one Roland DG printer. Now we have four and they run 24 hours a day. They’re my best third shift employees,” said Wesson.
Gulf Coast serves every kind of wrap customer, from consumers who want to personalize their ride, to corporations and police and fire departments. Several long-time corporate clients now have dealerships deliver new vehicles directly to Gulf Coast for graphic installations.
Wesson values the print/cut feature on his Roland DG VersaCAMMs. “Print/cut helps us a lot, especially for wraps and our decal work – I don’t know how we’d survive without it,” said Wesson. “Many features on our Roland DGs make it easy for us to start and finish jobs without skipping a beat, on a wide range materials.”
In addition to wraps, Gulf Coast Graphics produces thousands of decals each month along with banners. “With 3,000 stickers, eight wraps and 56 banners in one week, we need our equipment up and running 24/7,” said Wesson. “Roland DGs are reliable, easy to maintain, and I can’t say enough good things about Roland DG’s technical support.”
