Digital Printing + Flatbed Capability Guarantees Lightning-Fast Turnarounds

For the past 15 years, Pronto Signs and Graphics in Sante Fe, New Mexico, has been producing high quality signs, as quickly as possible.  This busy shop has two full time and two part-time employees handling all types of indoor and outdoor signage. 

Pronto Signs and Graphics produces signage and prints for art galleries, museums, state and local government, and business-to-business projects, along with graphic and interior designers, and, increasingly, the film industry.  

Powerful, Fast Production 
Pronto’s production is powered by two Roland DG SOLJET Pro 4 XR-640 printer/cutters and a Roland DG VersaUV LEJ-640FT UV flatbed printer. “We had heard good things about Roland DG printer/cutters,” said company President Matthew Noe. “When it was time for a flatbed, we trusted Roland DG’s quality and reliability.”

Pronto developed a passion for precision back in the 1990s, when the Museum of New Mexico approached them about sign work for exhibits.  “Since exhibit elements are typically viewed from close distances, the equipment has to be state-of-the-art and offer very high quality output,” said Noe.

To help the shop keep to its tight production schedule, Noe praises the reliability of his SOLJETs. “They have been stellar.  One is brand new, so pretty much bulletproof; the other machine is almost four years old and only needs simple maintenance,” he said.

Keeping Options Open with UV Flatbed Capabilities
Roland DG’s flatbed printer features quick-drying UV ink and a wide range of material options – qualities that have worked well for Pronto, especially for its film prop production.  “Film production teams are always asking for a quick turnaround – the instant dry UV ink is a must, and the quality just keeps them coming back,” said Noe. 

“We have always used Roland DG inks - they've been trouble-free, vibrant, and consistent.  Our output is typicallysold on quality, so risking consistency or quality issues with other inks just isn't worth the trouble,” he said.
 
Going forward, Noe sees Pronto accepting more custom one-off projects.  “We find those sorts of projects stimulating.  It's really pretty much a dream job!” he said.
