Sweet Sounds and Cajun Culture: Portraying a City's Rich Musical History
Faith Krucina
New Orleans is a magical place. Sweet sounds of jazz roll down humid streets and fill folks with a deep awareness of the city's rich history. For Faith Krucina, a renowned fine artist, the place changed her life.
Krucina has blended the music and imagery of New Orleans into a unique portfolio of art, achieving international praise in the process. With vivid colors and strong, expressive emotions, Krucina paints jazz musicians. With a brush, a knife and occasionally a credit card, she liberally applies her feelings of awe and beauty onto canvas after canvas. To printer her giclees, she relies on the Roland DG Hi-Fi JET.
"The ability to have a giclée produced on the same substrate was a big advantage. Pigment inks from Roland DG hold several advantages for the fine artist."
"Roland DG's Hi-Fi has been the perfect tool," said Krucina. "Because of the diversity of my style, including the wide range of colors and subject matters, it was essential that I find equipment that could give the intense colors of my ‘Jazz Icons’ and landscapes as well as capture the subtleties of my delicate florals and romantic nudes."
Krucina sells Roland DG giclées directly from her Website and at special shows and exhibits worldwide. She often enhances them right at an exhibit, just before selling them.
"I have deeply experimented with intensifying the reproduction," said Krucina. "The ability to have a giclée produced on the same substrate was a big advantage. Pigment inks from Roland DG hold several advantages for the fine artist."
