Bringing True Colors to Dirt Bike Graphics

Bryar Perry of 180 Decals in Red Bluffs, California, started his graphics business in 2003. He was 14 years old. “My dad took the money he would’ve paid for college and invested in my business,” said Perry.

A racer himself, Perry knew his market. He began by putting his designs on his own bike, and soon was providing designs for some of the fastest racers on the track.

Expanded Color Gamut for Race-Ready Graphics
These days, his company continues to exceed expectations. A Roland DG shop for years, Perry recently invested in a Roland DG TrueVIS VG2-540 54-inch digital printer/cutter. “With the expanded color gamut on the VG2, oranges like those on the KTM bikes are easy to hit,” said Perry.

His shop also keeps its Roland DG VersaCAMM VS-540 busy. “The larger size and increased print speed of our Roland DG printers meant we were able to lower our production costs, and business just kept coming,” said Perry.

Perry’s clients are primarily competitive Supercross and Motocross dirt bike racers.  Dedicated racers will order one or two sets of graphics each year to adjust for new sponsors or simply change up their previous designs.  Perry also gets requests for graphics from amateur racers and fans.

“The larger size and increased print speed of our Roland DG printers meant we were able to lower our production costs, and business just kept coming.”

Helmet wraps are also popular, and are typically where the riders express themselves more freely. “Helmet wraps incorporate lots of fluorescent colors and crazy designs,” noted Perry. “The stand-out graphics make it easier to spot a rider on the course.”

Production Versatility Yields Year-Round Business
With two printers in house, 180 Decals is able to handle additional jobs including retail signage, and game wraps and faceplate decals for nearby casinos.

“We love motocross, and we’re always looking for additional year-round clients,” Perry added. “The versatility of our Roland DG printers means we can say yes to a wider range of projects.”
