Digital and Offset Production Partner for Marketing Solutions Success
U.S. Press | Valdosta, Georgia
Maintaining success in today's marketplace requires keeping up with trends, and with technology. After decades in the commercial print industry, U.S. Press founders Kent and Dawn Buescher invested in digital printing to grow their business.
Today, the Valdosta, Georgia-based company provides a wide variety of marketing solutions for more than 25,000 businesses, from start-ups to top national brands.
Digital Printing Augments Offset
In recent years, U.S. Press's production has shifted from 100 percent offset to almost 60 percent digital. Anchoring their digital environment are four Roland DG SOLJET Pro 4 XF-640 printers and two Roland DG VersaUV LEF-300 benchtop UV flatbed printers. “Our Roland DG printers run all day long - they are the backbone of our production,” says Buescher.
“We market these products to our customer base and it brings in additional business. We have not found any other device that can print on these unique items.”
Digital printing has been key to expanding U.S. Press's services. In addition to full-color brochures, catalogs, and flyers, they now produce posters, banners, signs, store and window displays, and a wide variety of customized promotional products.
Promotional Products Boost Bottom Line
U.S. Press uses its LEF-300s to print directly on the flat and 3D promotional products its clients are asking for. In addition to the standards such as pens, smartphone cases, keychains, and umbrellas, the LEF can print on tote bags, hats, water bottles and mugs.
Among U.S. Press's clients are several specialty manufacturers who rely them for prototypes and print runs of items such as golf balls, jump drives, drink coasters, and cookie tin covers.
U.S. Press uses Roland DG's ECO-UV ink with White and Gloss ink to create gloss and matte finishes, along with simulated embossing and 3D textures. “Our clients love the results. The Gloss ink really makes the printing pop,” said Buescher.
U.S. Press has found that having UV print capabilities enhances sales. “We market these products to our customer base, and it brings in additional business,” said Buescher. “We have not found any other device that can print on these unique items.”
