Irvine, Calif., July 12, 2023 – Roland DGA Corporation, a leading provider of wide-format inkjet printers, printer/cutters, vinyl cutters, and other advanced digital imaging devices, has introduced the new 64-inch DGXPRESS™ ER-642 printer. The first eco-solvent model to join the DGXPRESS family of advanced, value-packed inkjets, the ER-642 offers users throughout Mexico, Central America, South America, and the Caribbean the ultimate combination of high productivity and outstanding image quality at an extremely affordable price.

Incorporating larger-sized printheads that jet ink droplets at higher density, plus newly developed high-speed data control technology, the ER-642 delivers vibrant, detailed output at impressive print speeds of up to 46.8 m2/h in 900 x 600 dpi mode for vinyl printing and 76.1 m2/h in 600 x 1200 dpi mode for banner printing. Further ensuring optimum graphic results, even at higher speeds, are Roland DG’s new GREENGUARD Gold certified DGXPRESS D-EA inks. Available in a double CMYK configuration, these cost-effective, specially formulated inks work perfectly with the ER-642’s cutting-edge printhead technology to produce stunning graphics with vivid colors, neutral grays, and smooth gradations.

The ER-642 is also equipped with a host of innovative features that improve work efficiency, including a media setting that automatically collects media when it is inserted for easy, more accurate loading, a take-up unit that minimizes skew to ensure accurate media winding, and a perforated sheet cutter that separates media along perforations between print jobs. In addition, customers can now easily replace caps, wipers, wiper cleaners, and other items around the printhead that previously required replacement by service personnel, minimizing downtime due to waiting.

The ER-642 printer comes bundled with powerful, intuitive VersaWorks® 6 software, which provides a wide range of features that support output operations, ensure smooth and efficient workflow, and enhance overall ease of use. Additionally, ER-642 users have access to Roland DG Connect, a cloud-based service that helps users create a more productive print operation environment with Roland DG devices, providing tools to improve workflow, better visualize analytics, and maximize profitability.

“The new ER-642 eco-solvent printer perfectly complements the recently introduced UG Series UV printer/cutters within our DGXPRESS family,” said Roland DGA’s Product Manager of Digital Print, Daniel Valade. “It’s the ideal machine for markets that have a growing demand for signage, offering not only amazing graphic results, outstanding productivity, and ultra-reliable performance, but also exceptional value. Of course, that’s the whole goal behind DGXPRESS – to help print professionals expand their creative and business possibilities by making high quality devices, inks, and software surprisingly affordable.”
