Inkjet Printers & Printers/Cutters
Our VersaUV® line offers clear ink capability, which can be used to add special finishes, create realistic textures and even improve ink adhesion. It’s important to remember that the best process for printing with clear EcoUV ink will depend on the desired results.
Create Natural Texture with EcoUV® Clear Ink
The Roland DG Texture Library, included with Roland DG VersaWorks® RIP software, allows VersaUV® users to choose from more than 70 unique patterns and textures – all printed by layering clear ink. You can also create your own patterns by using a grayscale image as texture data.
Designing for “The Longest Hallway in the World”
In the past year, the Roland DGA corporate office underwent a major renovation and build-out that wrapped up last month. The construction left us with one VERY long hallway; 170 linear feet to be exact.
Improve UV Ink Adhesion with a Clear Undercoat
One of the greatest advantages of UV ink is its compatibility with a wide variety of substrates. Unlike solvent or water-based inks that react with the surface or get absorbed by the coating, UV ink sits on the surface and bonds to it just like an adhesive. A number of factors, including the finish and composition of the surface and the amount of ink being used, can affect the strength of this bonding.

Digital Publishing Solutions Innovation of the Year Awards for 2013
Just got this email for nominees for Digital Publishing Solutions Innovation of the Year Awards for 2013. I may be biased, but there are some fantastic entries here. Amazingly, a full 57% (8 out of 14) of them are done using Roland DG technology (we had to ask behind the scenes as it’s not always mentioned below). We truly work with some astonishingly creative professionals, who push the boundaries of what’s possible. By putting “magical” products in the hands of masters, and you get some unbelievably good outcomes. My hat is off to all of our Roland DG pro’s! Chapeau!

Wide-format Imaging Magazine recently did their annual “State of the Industry” wrap up with several companies in our space. While we’ll make it into some answers, I thought I’d post our responses to each of the questions. Enjoy!
Getting Under the Hood of our New Pro 4 Line
Our new SOLJET® Pro 4 line is taking off like a rocket. In fact, we can’t build these printers fast enough. While this success can be attributed to many factors, we would like to take this opportunity to shine the spotlight behind the scenes – and give our exceptional Global One product development team the credit it deserves.
