How to Generate a Flood of White for the BY-20 Using FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition

The VersaSTUDIO BY-20 direct-to-film system includes FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition to make designing high-quality DTF transfers easier than ever. The VersaSTUDIO Edition includes a very simple feature for adding a full flood of White ink behind the CMYK portion of the graphics with just a few mouse clicks. This helps achieve strong opacity, ensuring that the CMYLK colors will be bright and vibrant once transferred to the final substrate.

First, import or design the artwork using FlexiDESIGNER VersaSTUDIO Edition.

Once “Underbase” has been selected, the design window will open. Make sure that RDG_White is selected and press the green checkmark so the effect will execute.

Export the file as PDF and import to Roland VersaWorks. Under Special Items, the “Wh” icon will show if the procedure was done properly.

You can preview the White layer in VersaWorks to make sure the desired effect was created. Once confirmed, the file is print ready.
