Earlier this summer, Roland DGA announced that Roland DG’s VersaWorks RIP software is now available for free for all EU-1000MF UV/LED flatbed printer endusers. To learn more about this important announcement, we talked with Jay Roberts, Roland DGA’s product manager for UV printers.
Why did Roland DGA decide to make VersaWorks available for free for all new and existing EU-1000MF users?
Jay Roberts: Quite simply, we believe that the VersaWorks RIP software is the best RIP software on the market, and we wanted to make it available for current and future EU-1000MF customers. Unlike third-party products, VersaWorks is designed to interact seamlessly with the print driver that controls the EU-1000MF. Our customers love VersaWorks, and we want to continue to support EU-1000MF users by providing this state-of-the-art RIP software.
What are some of the features that make VersaWorks so valuable for high-output production?
Overall, VersaWorks is a far more efficient and easy-to-use software product than those you’ll find in the third-party market. VersaWorks enables easy page manipulation and easy manipulation of multi-page .pdfs. For high-output production, VersaWorks also provides simple workflows for printing White ink, Gloss ink, and combined White and Gloss ink. In addition, VersaWorks is familiar to our Roland DG customers and provides features specific to Roland DG printers.
Our customers absolutely love VersaWorks. In fact, we regularly get asked at trade shows if other manufacturers’ printers can run VersaWorks, and we have to tell them that it is only available for Roland DG devices.
What types of support are available to help new users learn to use VersaWorks?
We have a treasure trove of videos on how to use VersaWorks available on Roland DGA’s website. Although the printers shown in the videos are different, the tips and techniques demonstrated will apply to EU-1000MF users as well.
