by Jay Roberts, Roland DGA Product Manager - UV Printers
As Roland DGA’s UV product manager, I often receive questions from end users regarding the proper cleaning of their machines. One of the most common inquiries is how to best clean the glass on the UV lamps. It seems that there’s a bit of confusion about this, as the information under “Service Information” notes say not to use glass cleaner, while older user manuals recommend cleaning the emitter (lamp) with a glass-cleaning solution. Well, here’s my answer to this commonly asked question – please follow the updated Service Information or use the revised user manual procedure.
You can click here to download the Service Information for this process, or simply use the tools, cleaning agents, and steps listed below:
Tools needed:
- Lint free cloth
- Anhydrous ethanol or Isopropyl alcohol
Procedure: Wet a cloth with anhydrous ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, and then wipe o the base and irradiation surface of each UV-LED Device with this cloth.
